Fresh Fish
Locally caught fresh fish comes from Kingfishers in Brixham. The company began when Gordon Summersby started buying and selling off Brixham fish market in the late 60's, having previously owned and worked a crabber off Lundy Island. His son Nick joined him in 1981 and between them they started Kingfisher. Fast-forward to the present and you find a thriving company with a seventy-strong team that’s synonymous with seafood and a huge part of the fishing “family” within the local community. Brixham is regarded as the UK’s largest prime fish market (Turbot, Bass, Red Mullet, John Dory, Brill, Dover Sole and Lemon Sole), which means that we have guaranteed access to some of the best daily catch in the country. Crabs and Lobsters
Our beautifully fresh Crabs and Lobsters come from Matthew Stevens & Son, a 3rd generation family business that overlooks St Ives Bay, across to Godrevy and the glorious sandy beaches that Cornwall is famous for. We trust in their superb reputation, which has been built over the last 50 years’ in supplying speciality seafood to a range of hotels and award-winning restaurants throughout Cornwall and the Southwest region. Speciality and Smoked Fish
Our speciality and smoked fish comes from Loch Fyne in Argyle, Scotland. Operating since the late 1970’s, it is an employee owned company that’s always been committed to producing and supplying the highest quality food using sustainable methods. Their founder, John Noble grew up on the shores of Loch Fyne with the beauty of the Highlands landscape as a backdrop to life. His concern for their unique environment and community led to the development of their first oyster farm and later, their own traditional smokehouse, which uses methods developed and practiced over the centuries throughout Scotland. Meat
Established as a family enterprise on Church Street in Sidmouth back in 1907, Haymans Master Butchers have always been committed to supplying the best quality, locally sourced produce. A member of the Guild of Q Butchers since1986, most of their meat is sourced locally. Whole beef cattle come from nearby Houghton Farm, run by Mervyn Hayman, and are processed by his brother Philip Hayman in nearby Ottery St Mary. Although Haymans early reputation was as a traditional family butcher, over the last 100 years they have diversified and now produce a wide range of additional cooked products, many of which have been awarded prizes in national competitions. This is testament to their focus on quality, which continues to run throughout their business.

Poultry
Our poultry comes from Crediton, in the heart of Mid-Devon. M.C.Kelly is a business with family roots that has a long tradition as a producer and supplier of poultry to the Westcountry. They rear their turkeys in small groups, in open barns allowing natural light, ventilation and plenty of space for their welfare and development. Fed on a cereal diet, including natural herbs such as oregano, they choose breeds such as ‘Bronze’, which are a slower growing, higher welfare bird that has a far superior taste and flavour. It’s this attention to quality, welfare and passion for producing excellent tasting produce that we put our trust in.

Fine Wines
Chris Piper and John Earle established Christopher Piper Wines in 1979. In those early days the two friends did virtually everything, from wine buying to selling, packing and delivering. Since then, the company has grown and is now one of the West of England's best-known independent wine merchants. Their philosophy is simple. Tip-top wines and spirits supported by tip-top service. Their principal business is with some of the finest independent hotels, restaurants and pubs in the south of England but they also see an ever-increasing number of private customers both in their shop in Ottery St Mary and through their website. Chris Piper is also a talented wine maker in Beaujolais where he makes a fine Brouilly at Château du Pavé, affectionately known as the Chairman's plonk! They are justifiably proud to regularly win the accolade of West of England Wine Merchant of the Year from the International Wine Challenge but remain an independent wine merchant for the independently minded wine lover.
